Our Pine Ridge Civic League

The Pine Ridge Civic League (PRCL) invites all residents and homeowners to take part in strengthening our community. Founded in 1985, Pine Ridge was proud to become the first Pearl Home neighborhood in Virginia Beach, setting the foundation for a strong, connected, and engaged neighborhood that continues today.

Our mission is to be a positive and unified voice for Pine Ridge residents—fostering neighborhood pride, promoting quality of life, and representing the interests of our community when working with local government and city leaders. Above all, the Civic League exists to bring neighbors together and help Pine Ridge remain a welcoming place to live.

What We Do

Thanks to annual dues and the dedication of many volunteers, the Pine Ridge Civic League supports a wide range of activities, events, and neighborhood improvements throughout the year.

Neighborhood Improvements

• Maintenance and upkeep of the Pine Ridge entryway sign, including solar lighting

• Entryway landscaping, seasonal plantings, mulching, and holiday decorations

• Improvements to shared spaces, including the installation of the Pine Ridge Little Free Library at the park

• Advocacy with the City of Virginia Beach for park and neighborhood enhancements, such as bike racks, basketball court paving, and new hoops

Community Events & Activities

• Easter Egg Hunt

• Fall Festival

• Neighborhood-Wide Yard Sale

• Santa Parade & Holiday Events

• Christmas Light Contest

• Additional family-friendly gatherings and activities throughout the year

Safety & Advocacy

• Working with local law enforcement to support traffic calming efforts, speed monitoring, and overall neighborhood safety

• Hosting quarterly Civic League meetings to discuss community topics, concerns, and updates

Communication & Engagement

• Website hosting and online dues payment options

• Creation, printing, and delivery of our neighborhood newsletter

• Event signage, flyers, and digital communications to keep residents informed

Scholarships

• Supporting local students through $500 scholarships available to graduating high school seniors in the neighborhood

Membership & Dues

Annual Civic League dues help support the betterment of Pine Ridge—our lifestyle, our appearance, and our property values. At $25 per calendar year, membership is an affordable way to invest in our community.

Dues are typically paid in January for the current year, but payments are accepted at any time for new residents or those who need additional flexibility.
